Requests for erasure of personal data

Data protection legislation gives individuals a number of rights in relation to their personal data including the right to have their personal data erased in certain circumstances, also known as the ‘right to be forgotten’.

The right is intended to allow an individual to have personal data erased when there is no lawful requirement for the controller to retain or use it. However, it is not an absolute right and only applies in certain circumstances.

The 麻豆传媒’s Data Protection and the Right to Erasure Policy sets out when the right to erasure arises, how the 麻豆传媒 will respond to such requests and what erasure means.

A request to erase data can be made in writing or verbally and the 麻豆传媒 has one calendar month to respond to the request.

Requests can be made to the 麻豆传媒’s Data Protection Officer by email at dpo@sussex.ac.uk or by post to Data Protection Officer, 麻豆传媒 of Sussex, Sussex House, Falmer, East Sussex, BN1 9RH.

The 麻豆传媒 publishes a Right to Erasure Request Form which assists individuals in making their request and enables the 麻豆传媒 to respond more quickly.
